Precautions for using automotive gear oil additives
The newly installed gear box needs a certain running-in time, and the equipment has not yet entered the normal wear stage, and the wear is large, causing the temperature of the tooth surface to rise. This temperature rise is a necessary stage for the normal operation of the equipment. Therefore, the initial oil change period of the new gearbox is shorter, and the washed abrasive is carried out through the oil change.
Gear oils with lower quality grades cannot be used on vehicles with higher requirements, that is, ordinary vehicle gear oils cannot replace medium and heavy-duty gear oils, otherwise it will cause equipment wear and shorten service life.
Oils with appropriate viscosity grades should be selected according to the ambient temperature to ensure lubrication requirements under high and low temperature working environments. But don't make the mistake of thinking that high-viscosity gear oils have good lubricating properties. The use of gear oils with too high viscosity grades will significantly increase the fuel consumption of vehicles, especially for high-speed cars, and appropriate multi-grade oils should be used as much as possible.
