Turbine oil is the lubricating oil used for steam turbines. Some turbine speed control systems also share turbine oil as the control system oil. The composition of turbine oil consists of two parts: base oil and additives, of which more than 95% are base oil. There are two main sources of base oils: one is mineral oil and the other is synthetic synthetic oil. Mineral oil is the refined oil after the petroleum has been processed. After adding some additives, it becomes turbine oil. The vast majority of turbine oils currently used are mineral turbine oils. Another base oil is chemically synthesized, called synthetic oil. After adding some additives, synthetic oil becomes synthetic turbine oil.
It is suitable for lubrication and rust prevention of large steam turbines and hydro-generator sets in the power industry, and also for warships and marine ship steam turbines with reduction gears. It is also used in other circulating lubrication systems that require extreme stability and do not require oil changes for a long time, as well as the lubrication of some air compressors, vacuum pumps, textile machinery, spindles and spindles, and all non-extreme pressure gears and bearings.
