Polyisobutylene is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic viscous liquid or semi-solid substance with properties such as heat resistance, oxygen resistance, ultraviolet resistance, acid and alkali resistance. It is widely used in the fields of petroleum additives, carrier, adhesive and blending improvement with other polymers. For the field of lubricating oil and its additives, low molecular weight polyisobutylene (PB, PIB for short) is mainly used, and the common molecular weights are 950, 1300, and 2400.
Polyisobutenyl succinimide (T154A) is an ashless dispersant prepared from high activity polyisobutylene (=1000) by thermal addition process. It has good cleaning and dispersing properties and can inhibit the formation of carbon deposits and paint films on engine pistons. The product does not contain chlorine.
At present, most of the polyisobutylene succinimide produced in China adopts the thermal addition process, and different types of polyisobutylene succinimide are prepared by reacting high-activity polyisobutylene with maleic anhydride and polyene polyamine in sequence according to a certain proportion. Amines, such as T151 (polyisobutylene bis-succinimide), T154 (polyisobutylene bis-succinimide), T155 (polyisobutylene-polysuccinimide), T161 (high molecular weight polyisobutylene-bis-succinimide) In addition to the above products, Jinzhou Kangtai has also developed polyisobutylene succinimide modified by boronization and phosphating, which significantly improves the anti-wear performance of ashless dispersants and is widely recognized by the industry.
